MAXEY SUR MEUSE
AIRE DE STATIONNEMENT DE MAXEY SUR MEUSE
Description
Located at the heart of the village of Maxey, this reception and service area is free. It is an ideal place to take a break in a motor home as it is near a playground and picnic tables.
Maxey sur Meuse is a charming village located on the banks of the Meuse River into which the Vair, the Roises and two small streams, the Vau and the Blanchonrupt, flow. A paradise for fishing enthusiasts. Walkers are not outdone when they go to the Beauregard plateau. The wild and clear aspect of the site, the changing greens of the limestone lawn and the silhouettes of the pine trees create an unexpected southern atmosphere. The Notre Dame de Beauregard chapel, like a lighthouse on the tip of the plateau, adds to the serenity of the place. Here, the area is open to the story of Joan of Arc. Her village, Domremy-la-Pucelle and the basilica of the Bois Chenu, dedicated to the saint, are clearly visible on the other bank of the Meuse.
