"CHARLES DE BRUYÈRES" MUSEUM

Description

The Musée de Beaux-Arts de Remiremont, established thanks to the bequest of Charles de Bruyères, houses rich and varied collections of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. The museum explores the town's thousand-year-old history, with treasures such as a Carolingian agate intaglio that is unique in the world, Dutch and Italian paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, and a large Art Nouveau collection featuring works by Emile Gallé.

The museum also features antique earthenware, painted hangings from 1750, and reconstructions of Vosges interiors. Accessible to people with reduced mobility thanks to a lift, it offers a captivating introduction to local history and heritage.
