FERRIERE CHAPEL- MACONCOURT
Description
Situated at 426 m above sea level, the Ferrières chapel built by the iron miners in 1624, dominates the Vosges plain, from where one can admire a magnificent panorama. The chapel was built on the site of an old oratory with a three-pillars awning. The polychrome stone Virgin Mary is from 1685. The chapel underwent a first restoration in 1951 and a second one in 1991 which gave it its current appearance.
