AROFFE
CHURCH OF SAINT SULPICE - AROFFE
Description
Built in the two first decades of the 16th century, the church in Aroffe was finished in 1528, date written on one of the windows which is now missing.
Surrounded by the old cemetery, the church has a rectangular plan with a bell tower, set in the West side and a pentagonal apse to the East. The nave has gothic windows with two trefoil lancet windows topped either by quatrefoils, by mouchettes (an element of decor typical of the Gothic style and of an asymetircal form that resembles flames), by guttae or by trefoils.
