MOYENMOUTIER
ABBEY OF MOYENMOUTIER
Description
"On the 3 Abbeys road, beside the Rabodeau river, stands the majestic and elegant baroque church of Moyenmoutier.
Founded in 671 by Saint Hydulphe, this middle monastery has hosted the learned elite of the Benedictine order several times in its history. The elegant simplicity of its church, which has the dimensions of a cathedral, contrasts with its exceptional furniture, in particular the organ and 17th century choir stalls.
The Abbey of Moyenmoutier is open daily throughout the year from 10:00 to 17:00 (closed occasionally from 12:00 to 14:00).
