REMIREMONT
LA FONTAINE DU CYGNE
Description
Originally located in front of no. 43 rue Charles de Gaulle, this fountain was moved in 1852 to its current location on the Place de la Libération, replacing an old round basin that had fallen into disrepair.
Designed exclusively for decorative purposes, this fountain is distinguished by its main basin, carved from a single block of granite using the hammering technique. This method gives the basin a unique texture, combining history, art and elegance in an emblematic public space.
