PLOMBIERES LES BAINS
RUE STANISLAS
Description
The street did not always look like this. In the 18th century, following the Sainte-Anne flood, which inundated the town, a new town planning scheme was put in place. From 1860 onwards, the houses were lined up and fitted with balconies decorated with fleurs-de-lis, curves and arabesques. These magnificent balconies, which made it possible to see while being seen, became the symbol of Leadières, the city of 1,000 balconies.
