Description
The art of bobbin lacemaking in Mirecourt. Lace was introduced to Mirecourt in the 16th century and the town had some 25,000 lacemakers at that time. The industry did not fall into decline until the early 20th century. Now, the Lace Centre illustrates the history of the local craft, with old and contemporary lace. After an introductory video, you can watch lacemakers giving a demonstration of their technique. You can even have a go, with their advice born of long experience.
